Untapable Brings Beginners to Monmouth Park Haskell Invitational

Untapable Brings Beginners to Monmouth Park Haskell Invitational: The Haskell Invitational is an exciting race all on it’s own but add a lone filly against the boys in the 1 1/8 mile dirt race and the bet becomes even more thrilling. Many “newbies at the track” are excited to follow Untapable’s successful career to Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey for the Haskell Invitational on Sunday, July 27, 2014 after the filly won the Kentucky Oaks with jockey Rosie Napravnik on May 2, 2014.

Untapable has created a buzz and has been described as “unbeatable” among her loyal fans, many of which will travel high and low to get a glimpse of the filly on the Monmouth Park Racetrack for the G1 47th running of the Haskell Invitational.

Christine Abel from Voorhees, New Jersey told Lady and The Track, “I’ll make the trip to Monmouth to see Untapabale on Sunday with a group of my girlfriends. I went out to the Kentucky Derby not knowing anything about the Kentucky Oaks. After watching Untapable and Rosie win in Kentucky, I’ve been hooked. Christine added, “We are all wearing red and white hats and dresses to represent Untapable!”

Fredrick Lyons of Boston, is a regular to Monmouth Park and the Haskell Invitation. Fredrick told Lady and The Track, “I’ve been to the Haskell for the last four years. I’ve always gone with a buddy but this year I’m taking my two girls (age five and seven) to watch Untapable take on the boys. Fredrick added, “It’s a good way for me to get my daughters interested in racing. We’ll make a day out of it with ice cream and all.”

Untapable will team up with jockey Rosie Napravnik again for the 2014 Haskell Invitational and will break from post position #7 as the morning line favorite with 2-1 odds. The Steve Asmussen trained filly is currently in on a winning streak finishing first in her last four races, most recently the Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park on June 28, 2014.

Untapable will take on eight other three-year-old colts in the Haskell Invitational including favorite Bayern (5-2), and Albano (6-1).

Post time for the 2014 Haskell Invitational, a Breeders’ Cup Win and You’re In Race, is set for 5:44 PM ET and is the 12th race of the day.
