Arlington Oaks 2014

Since the Arlington Oaks is a guys’ day filled with power cars and beer drinking, why not have fun and look the part on Saturday, July 19, 2014.

What to do at Arlington Park on Arlington Oaks Day…

For those twenty-one and older, enjoy the Guys Day Out event at Arlington Park. It will be taking place throughout the day with a two-hour beer tasting from 1:30-3:30 PM. Just because it is a Guys Day Out doesn’t mean that the ladies can’t enjoy themselves as well. There will be plenty to do and experience for everyone. The event cost $30 per ticket for the Guys Day Out Beer Fest. Along with the two-hour beer tasting there are hot dogs and two 12oz beers, and a Souvenir beer sampling cup along with admission. You can buy tickets online.

Also featured on Arlington Oaks Day will be a car show presented by the Classic Car Club of America. You can even enter to win a gift certificate to J. HIlburn with a personal stylist, provided by Arlington Downs or a $50 gift card provided by Golfsmith.

Another fun event that day is Horses and Hops. Every Saturday there is a feature jockey, craft beer or cider or specialty brand beer, live band, and food special. On the 19th, the band will be Hoopla, and the beverage will be Batch 19 and the featured jockey is Julio Felix. Your beverage will be paired with pulled port minis and sweet and sour slaw. You will also receive an official Julio Felix jockey card and if he wins two or more races you will also win a prize and you can even get a chance to try out an official Equisizer will be on display for photo ops.

What to wear to Arlington Park on Arlington Oaks Day…

Since this is guys’ day filled with power cars and beer drinking, why not have fun and look the part. Try menswear inspired pieces but give them a feminine twist. For instance try out a great flirty sundress but rather than pairing them with a traditional heel, pair them with flat lace up oxfords. Not only will it be a cute menswear twist, your feet will thank you as you walk around enjoying your craft beer at Arlington Park. You can also go the menswear route with your headwear. Try a wide brimmed safari hat or a fedora rather than a fascinator. Try the navy rimmed fedora (pictured below) with a super feminine and elegant navy dress for a feminine menswear twist. Your menswear inspired pieces will be a fun twist on Guys Day Out at the races.
