Belmont Stakes Travel Tips; Make the Belmont Stakes a Fun Weekend Getaway: The 2014 Belmont Stakes takes place in Elmont, New York at the Belmont Race Track. It is located right around Long Island, NY. The June 7th race is sure to be a great time, but why not go ahead and make a whole weekend out of it and find a great place to stay so that you are well rested and ready to go for race day and you’ll have a great place to crash after all of the race day festivities.
