What to Wear To Gulfstream Park: 2013 Donn Handicap

The 2013 Donn Handicap takes place this Saturday February 9 at Gulfsteam Park. Since the day is packed to the brim with star studded horses such as Animal Kingdom and Take Charge Indy, we had to consult style expert Briana Mott from Fashion at the Races to ask, “What should Trixie wear to Gulfstream Park for the Donn Handicap?”

Luckily Briana always has the answers! Briana replied, “When you think of Florida you think of Palm Trees and of course fruity cocktails by the pool. Instead we are going to a summer dress, still with fruity cocktails but at the races! Trixie is traveling to Gulfstream Park for the $500,000 Donn Handicap and she is going green! She will be wearing a fabulous dress bought at Dillards that has an easy cap sleeve with simple detail around the waistline, very effortless but yet so classy. Since the dress is simple we are going to pair this with a standout hat! A bigger brimmed hat from Antonio Melani (shown below) will compliment the dress perfectly, as well as keep the sun out of Trixie’s eyes.”

Briana added, “Accessory wise, this outfit would be great to pair with small simple gold jewelry like a one charm necklace and small stud earrings. For shoes we are going to put Trixie is a great pair of wedges. Although it’s not summer yet, the heat is turning up so we will put her in more of a summery wedge to let her pedicure breath! For the last accessory, grab a tan purse with just a little bit of detail for a surprise bling!”

Fashion at the Races style expert Briana Mott always knows the right combination for hair and makeup. She said, “Lastly, keep the makeup light, barely there, and we’d put her beautiful blonde hair in a low bun just placed a little bit on the side so it peaks put behind the bigger brim. Voila! Trixie’s perfect race outfit!”
