What to wear to the 2014 Empire Classic Handicap…

With a great day of racing and so much fall fun to enjoy at Belmont Park this Saturday; it seems fitting to wear one of fall 2014’s biggest trends, the color orange. We are not talking about looking like an actual pumpkin. This season’s orange pieces are chic and there are a variety of different shades of orange that designers and retailers have presented for the fall 2014 season. Everyone can find the right shade of orange for their skin tone and hair color. Blonds look great in a bright bold orange, whereas dark haired girls might try a more muted earthy orange. Colors that go great with orange are navy blue, beige, tan, and white. Just make sure to avoid paring orange with black, which would be a little too Halloween.

Try a great bright orange fit and flare dress with bow tie front in order to really stand out or this bright orange textured dress. Pair your look with metallic or nude shoes. For those who prefer a more subtle or muted orange tone, try a muted rust colored full orange skirt or a sweet lace collared rust orange dress for the 2014 Empire Classic. If you don’t like earth toned rust orange colors and are not comfortable in bright bold orange, then try a more melon inspired orange, or orange with hints of pink behind it, like a cardigan, which look great on warm skin tones.

With a bright orange look a lace navy hat would look great contrasted with the bright orange. For the earth toned and even the melon toned orange outfits, try paring it with an olive green headpiece, which compliments both the earth toned and melon oranges.

In your on trend orange outfit you will be ready to enjoy a full day of racing and fall festivities at Belmont Park for the 2014 Empire Classic!
