Just one day after Christmas, Santa Anita Park will open its gates for the 78th running of their Winter Meet. The 68-day meet offers horse racing fans of all ages a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful California weather. The meet kicks off on December 26, 2014 with three stakes races including the G1 Malibu Stakes featuring multiple graded stakes winner Shared Belief and 2014 Kentucky Derby participant Chitu.

What to do at Santa Anita Park on Opening Day…

Santa Anita Park launches its first ever “Guest Chef Series” on Opening Day from 12:00-5:00. A group of local dynamic chefs and bartenders will dazzle and excite patrons in the glamorous Chandelier Room. In addition to a day full of thoroughbred racing, your $85 ticket includes a glass of champagne, entry into the Chandelier Room, the daily racing program, a wagering tip sheet, entertainment, and dining throughout the afternoon.
