Haskell Invitational Features American Pharoah & Best Dressed Couple: On Sunday, August 2, the 2015 Haskell Invitational Stakes will take place at Monmouth race track. The Haskell Invitational Stakes is a Grade I race for three-year-olds over a distance of 1-1/8 miles, and the race carries a large purse of $1,000,000. Triple Crown winner and fan-favorite American Pharoah leads the pack with 1-5 morning line odds on Haskell day at Monmouth Park.

Gates to Monmouth Park will open at 9:00 in the morning with a first post time of 11:30. Grandstand admission is $6.00, and Clubhouse admission is $9.00.

Monmouth Park will have plenty to offer in celebration of the Invitational in hosting Haskell Day, which will feature live music by Nashville recording artists LoCash Cowboys and Big Hix. In addition, the music will be broadcasted by Thunder 106.3 FM.

For handicappers both novice and experienced, Haskell Day will also feature The Haskell Challenge, a free online handicapping game. The competition will include fourteen races, and the grand prize will be a VIP trip to the 2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky, that includes airfare for two, a three-night stay in a hotel, and Clubhouse seats for two for both days. Entry into the competition is free, but all players must be registered and have selections submitted by 11:30 a.m. EST on Sunday, August 2.

Haskell Day will also host a contest for the most fashionably dressed, and one couple will even win recognition as Haskell’s Best Dressed Couple. The fashion contest is sponsored by Lily Pulitzer Shops at Riverside, and winners of the fashion contest will receive a gift from Lily Pulitzer.

In order to look fashionable on Haskell Day and even potentially win Best Dressed Couple, try one of the biggest summer trends, white lace. Summer is coming to a close, so go ahead and dress in head-to-toe white. This year’s white lace is not your grandmother’s white lace.
