As the summer racing season heats up, the two-year-old talent starts to come out in full force, with some of the most premier two-year-old races featured at Del Mar.

Listed at 8-1 on the morning line, Champagne Room is by Broken Vow out of the winning Bernstein mare, Lucky to Be Me. Purchased for $310,000 at the OBS April Sale after breezing two furlongs in 20 4/5, Champagne Room has certainly been working like a good thing at Santa Anita. Her last move was on July 7 going five furlongs in 59 3/5, the fastest of 33 at that distance. Her two works prior to that were also very good, one in 47 2/5, and one in 48 2/5 from the gate.

Owned and trained by the same connections as MGSW Collected, the 3-1 morning line favorite is Noted and Quoted. A gray or roan filly by The Factor out of the stakes-winning City Zip mare Silver Club, Noted and Quoted was a $375,000 purchase at the OBS March Sale. Bred to win early, she has been working steadily with her last drill coming on July 8 going five furlongs from the gate in 1:02 1/5. Before that, she had two more gate works, one in 47 4/5, and one in 1:00 3/3.

The second choice on the morning line at 4-1 is the Jerry Hollendorfer trained filly, Go Baby Run. A bay filly by Smart Strike out of an Awesome Again mare, her works suggest she may need one before she becomes a winner. But given her connections she certainly merits respect in this spot.

Whoever comes out the other end a winner on Saturday will likely prove to be one of the most productive filly maidens of the meet at Del Mar.
