2013 Kentucky Derby: Orb

Orb is a leading contender in the 2013 Kentucky Derby.

Orb is a leading contender in the 2013 Kentucky Derby.

Orb is by far the toughest competitor in the 2013 Kentucky Derby. Orb is on a winning streak placing first in all four of his last races, which includes the Florida Derby and the Besilu Fountain of Youth. Orb enters the Kentucky Derby at the top of the Leaderboard with 150 points.

Orb is trained by Claude R. “Shug” McGaughey III and owned by Stuart Janney III & Phipps Stable. Throw in superstar jockey Joel Rosario and you have an unstoppable team behind the magnificent Orb. Experts claim Orb is the horse with the most stamina in the Run For The Roses.

Trainer Shug McGaughey stated Orb’s biggest flaw is that he’s spoiled!

Shug said, “Orb is pretty spoiled but he’s a nice horse. He is enjoyable to be around. He hasn’t learned to be mean yet!”

The famous trainer added, “Orb hasn’t figured out what all the attention is about because everything is still so new to him.”

The Lady and The Track team had the pleasure of witnessing Orb win the Florida Derby. Orb is extremely impressive! You probably won’t walk away with much if you place a bet on Orb because he’s the favorite but at least you’ll walk away a winner!

Post time for the 2013 Kentucky Derby is set for Saturday May 4th at 6:24 PM EST and will be aired on NBC.

Lady and The Track would like to wish Claude R. “Shug” McGaughey III, Stuart Janney III & Phipps Stable, Joel Rosario, and the amazing Orb the best of luck in the 2013 Kentucky Derby! Good Luck! Safe Run!

Watch Orb gallop around Churchill Downs on Friday April, 26 2013.
