Princess of Sylmar Winner of The 2013 Kentucky Oaks

Longshot Princess of Sylmar and Mike Smith won the 139th running of Kentucky Oaks on May 3, 2013 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Princess of Sylmar was awarded a $1 Million purse after finishing first in the 1 1/8 mile dirt race. Princess of Sylmar is a Todd Pletcher trained horse.

The Kentucky Oaks field was set with ten three-year-old fillies after Flashy Grey was scratched from post position #10. Princess of Sylmar surprised the experts crossing the finish line first with 38/1 odds!

In related news, Mike Smith will team up Palace Malice for the 2013 Kentucky Derby on May 5, 2013. Palace Malice is one of five horses trained by Todd Pletcher running in the 139th Run for The Roses.
