Below you’ll find a complete list of Friday’s scheduled horse races, a brief description of each race, contenders, favorites, and odds for the 29^th running of the Breeders’ Cup. There are a full two days of championship horse races at the Santa Anita track in California.

Friday November 2, 2012 Schedule:

Juvenile Sprint $500,000 6 Furlongs 1:06 PM PDT
The newest of the Breeders’ Cup races, the Juvenile Sprint is for 2-year-old horses running three quarters of a mile around one turn. The race features horses that have demonstrated a special talent for running short distances early in their careers.

In Thoroughbred racing, a Juvenile race is one restricted to 2-year-old horses. The Juvenile Fillies is restricted to 2-year-old females. It is run at 1 1/16 miles, a little more than the circumference of the racetrack. In nearly all cases over the years, the winner of the Juvenile Fillies has been named the Champion of all 2-year-old females.
