Don’t feel blue on Sunday October 27th at the 2013 Pattison Canadian International Stakes in Woodbine, Canada, but feel free to wear blue on race day. Cobalt blue is one of the season’s hottest trends. Blue almost acts as a neutral like black or brown but it gives more boldness and pop to an outfit. Like any neutral cobalt blue can be paired with almost any color, but my favorite way to style it is to either go all out in full blue or pair it with black for a sleek look.

You can make the look feminine and soft or more polished and sexy depending on what fabrics or styles you pick. For instance you can wear a cobalt blue embellished top with a full skirt for a feminine look or you can pair a blue top with a black leather skirt for an edgier look. For a polished look try a sheath dress in cobalt blue. If you are a little more understated then just dip your toes into the color by letting cobalt just be a pop of color against a black backdrop. Try a cobalt blue belt to cinch in a black dress, or try an accessory like a black and cobalt blue statement necklace, or a sexy pair of blue suede shoes, you could even try a cobalt blue hat to make a statement.
