Bostonians hope for World Series Derby Win with Wicked Strong

Bostonians hope for World Series Derby Win with Wicked Strong: Wicked Strong, just like many local Bostonians, is tough, able, and full of heart. The 2014 Kentucky Derby contender not only sits confidently in the 4th place position on the Kentucky Derby leader board with 102 points, he brings hope and promise to the Churchill Downs track with his Boston roots. The connections of Wicked Strong and Centennial Farms will donate approximately $70,000 to The One Fund if the colt wins the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby on May 3, 2014. After the Red Sox won the World Series, passionate Bostonians hope Wicked Strong can bring home another victory the entire city can celebrate!

Wicked Strong arrived in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from Elmont, New York. The colt has been training at Belmont Park to prepare for the Kentucky Derby. After the thirteen hour van ride and a bath, Wicked Strong was reportedly comfortable in his Churchill Downs stall.

Trainer Jimmy Jerkens commented on the trip saying, “I’ve been here before. I know what its like. It’s
exciting but nerve wracking at the same time.”

Wicked Strong galloped about a mile this morning (Monday, April 28) on a rainy Churchill Downs track. Experts reported that Wicked Strong looked extremely comfortable on the wet track and in the rain.
