The Gold Cup 2014 Events at Santa Anita Park: The Gold Cup 2014 is set for June 28th at Santa Anita Park. However, the Breeders’ Cup Challenge race is not the only thing to get excited about on Saturday. Santa Anita will host quite a few events on Saturday for all to enjoy in addition to four impressive stakes races.

What to book…
A unique Santa Anita Park feature is the Family Fun Zone, so kids can get in on the fun and not just the adults. The Family Fun Zone has many fun activities for the kids to choose from including face painting, carnival games, pony rides, and inflatable jumpers. The gates open at 11:00 am and the Family Fun Zone opens at 12:00 pm and closes at 4:00 pm. You can even purchase a Family Pack for Four for $30, which will include 2 Daily Racing Programs, 4 meals, 2 pony rides, 2 face paintings and up to 8 carnival games.

For the adults there are quite a few events to choose from including the Bud Light Lounge, the Champagne Brunch, and the Chandelier Room. The Bud Light Lounge costs $20 for an advance ticket and $25 for a ticket the day of, and it includes an all you can eat buffet from 12:00-3:00 pm and seating in the Bud Light Lounge plus ½ off drinks and drafts throughout the day. For those who want fine dining experience, the Champagne Brunch is the place for you with access to the premier Turf Terrace dining area and a coveted view of the races along with a exquisite brunch menu that comes with unlimited champagne between 12:00 pm-2:30 pm. The cost per ticket is $100. For a chic early evening experience try the Chandelier Room. It is a beautiful Art Deco design and it is a time to socialize and experience award winning cuisine and see and be seen. The event is held from 1:00 pm-6:00 pm and costs $75 per person or you can make a party of it and bring your friends and reserve a whole table for $300.

One last event that is unique to Santa Anita this weekend is the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Hot Spot Package. The Gold Cup is the feature “Win & You’re In” challenge race on Saturday awarding the thoroughbred winner with a coveted spot at the Breeders’ Cup Classic. You can join in on the fun by watching the Gold Cup with a trackside seat and a full racing card of stakes racing. It begins when the race begins at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 28th and ticket cost is only $20. The $500,000 G1 Gold Cup is one of four stakes races scheduled on Saturday, June 28th.
