Juddmonte International Stakes 2014 at York: The 2014 Juddmonte International Stakes is held at York Racecourse and is set to take place on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in York, England. The Juddmonte International Stakes is the highlight of the opening day at York and is a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” Challenge Race, awarding the winner an automatic entry into the Breeders’ Cup Turf at santa Anita Park on Saturday, November 1, 2014. The Juddmonte International Stakes is ranked as one of the top ten middle distance contests in the world at one-mile and two furlongs on the turf.

What to do at the 2014 Juddmonte International Stakes…

The Juddmonte International Stakes at York Racecourse on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in England is a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” Challenge race, awarding it’s winner with an automatic entry in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at santa Anita Park on November 1, 2014.

Gates at York Racecourse will open at 11:00 am on Opening Day. The highlight of events taking place that day will be the beginning of the Yorkshire Ebor Festival. The four-day festival begins on Wednesday and ends on Saturday. A main event will be the Ebor Fashion Lawn. Fashion is very prominent on race day in England. Race goers will be able to visit the Ebor Fashion Lawn, which is set in the former pre-parade ring. There will be a catwalk where a panel of judges will determine the best fashions. Each day there will be a prize for the winner of the Best Dressed Racegoer, the competition will even include the men. The competition, however, will only be open to guests of the County Stand, Grandstand, or Paddock. The main judging will happen before racing begins.

There are many places to choose from to eat at York Racecourse on Opening Day for the 2014 Juddmonte International Stakes. In the County Stand Enclosure some guest favorites are the Ebor Bistro or Buffet and the Princess Mary Seafood Bar. You can also try the Eclipse Restaurant. In the Grandstand & Paddock area you can choose from the Sharpo Bar & Buffet or the Knavesmire Restaurant. Another option for guests to partake in race day activity is the Course Enclosure, where patrons can enjoy a food court with traditional fish n’ chips and ice cream.

York Racecourse is also family friendly. In the Kanvesmire area, children and families are welcome with special children’s meals and baby changing facilities. There are grassy lawns and green entry for children under 18 accompanied with an adult. There is also homemade ice cream.

What to wear to the 2014 Juddmonte International Stakes…

For English racing, the dress is actually a bit casual. This doesn’t mean that you can come in with jeans and a t-shirt; you will still want to dress like a proper lady. As summer comes to a close try one last summer favorite, the halter neckline. Just make sure the halter is not too showy and that you chose a halter neck that has thicker straps to maintain a lady like look.
