Trade Storm and jockey Jamie Spencer won the Ricoh Woodbine Mile on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Woodbine Racecourse for trainer David Simcock.

Ken & Sarah Ramsey’s Bobby’s Kitten took the 2014 Ricoh Woodbine Mile lead right out of the starting gate followed by Ancil and Silver Freak. Grand Arch gave it his all in the “longest stretch on the continent” but it was English-bred Trade Storm who rallied the hardest in the final furlong.

Jack Milton was the morning line favorite and broke from the Woodbine Racecourse starting gate with 3-1 odds. The Todd Pletcher trained colt finished 9th in the eleven horse field.

Jamie Spencer’s Ricoh Woodbine Mile win is more than a memorable one because the jockey plans to retire at the end of the season.

Last year, Trade Storm finished second to the great Wise Dan giving trainer David Simcock a thrilling victory!
