Horse Racing This Weekend Five Featured Races

This weekend holds many great horse races across the nation. Our top five horse races to watch include the Frizette Stakes, the Champagne Stakes, the Shadwell Turf Mile, the Santa Anita Sprint Championship, and the Juddmonte Spinster Stakes. All five of these races are featured in “horse racing news of the weekend” for several reasons but mostly because they are official “Win and You’re In” Breeders’ Cup Challenge Races or because they will award the winners with points towards the 2015 Kentucky Derby and the 2015 Kentucky Oaks.

Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park on Saturday, October 4, 2014, has a post time 3:25 PM ET and will award it’s winner with an automatic entry into the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies race at Santa Anita Park on Saturday November 1, 2014. The Frizette will also awards it’s top four finishers points that will enable them to potential have a position in the Kentucky Oaks starting gate at Churchill Downs on Friday, May 1, 2015. The G1 $500,000 Frizette Stakes is for two-year-old fillies going one-mile on the dirt.

The $500,000 G1 one-mile Champagne Stakes for two-year-olds is run on dirt and will award its winner an automatic entry into the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on Saturday, November 1, 2014.
