TVG Diana Stakes 2014 Headlines Saratoga Opening Weekend: The TVG Diana Stakes (see odds & posts below) is set to take place on July 19th, 2014 at Saratoga. It is a G1 race with a big $500,000 purse with a distance of 1 1/8 miles on turf for three-year-old fillies and up. Though very exciting, the TVG Diana is not the only thing to enjoy at Saratoga. You can make a whole weekend out of it with stakes races taking place at Saratoga on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! (see TVG Diana Results)

What to do at Saratoga on Opening Weekend…

Opening Day at Saratoga for the 2014 season is Friday, July 18th. Gates will open at 7:00 am with a first post time at 1:00 pm. The G3 Schuylerville and the Sir Cat headlines Friday’s festivities.

In addition to the TVG Diana Stakes on Saturday at Saratoga, the G3 $150,000 Sandford is on the card for two-year-olds. Be sure to dress to impress on Saturday, as Lord & taylor will be judging the style and fashion of track patrons throughout the day for prizes. One lucky fashionista will even be chosen to present a trophy in the Winner’s Circle after a big race!

Then on Sunday, after the races, there will be the 23rd Annual Hat Contest. The contest is presented by Lord & Taylor and there will be great prizes. The categories for this year are Kreative Kids, Uniquely Saratoga, and Fashionably Saratoga. Registration will begin at noon under the grandstand. It will be time to bring out your most unique and creative hat and even kids can get in on the fun. On Sunday there will also be a Casino and Raceway Baseball Cap giveaway. Admission to the park is $5 for the grandstand and $8 for clubhouse admission. Children 12 and under are free when they are accompanied by an adult.

What to wear to Saratoga on Opening Weekend…

Since this is a big weekend at Saratoga, you will want to look your best and make sure to stand out for all of the opening weekend festivities. Choose bright and bold primary colors. There are three primary colors, blue, yellow, and red. You will be sure to find the right shade for you in one of these colors on the color wheel, like cobalt blue, canary yellow, or a bright bold vibrant red.

Try the yellow polka dot dress (pictured below) for opening weekend at Saratoga. Not only is it in a great saturated yellow, it also features polka dots which is a huge summer trend. If yellow is too sunny for you then try a classic cobalt blue shift dress.

If you’re a daring woman who likes all eyes on her at the track then go for a bold bright classic red. Try the great bold red shift dress (pictured below) that especially accentuates your waist and hides thighs.

Pair your primary colors with nude or metallic shoes to keep from looking like a full on crayon. Try something strappy and light so it doesn’t take away from your outfit.

If a primary color all over is too much for you then try wearing the primary color in your accessories like a great bold fascinator or hat or even bright bold shoes. Primary colors are ok in your shoes as long as you are not wearing it all over. Try some red stilettos or a bold yellow fascinator headband.
