Local fashion retailers and spas will be featured, and there will be prizes for the best dressed man and woman that will be awarded each Saturday afternoon that includes participation in a trophy presentation for the Fashion Saturday race.

There are also plenty of other events Saratoga will be hosting surrounding the 2015 Travers Day. Friday will also have a special ceremony called the Saratoga Red Jacket Ceremony honoring two horse racing legends, Marylou Whitney and Ogden Mills Phipps.

Fans can also come and see Triple Crown winner American Pharaoh and other Travers Stakes contenders at 8:45 a.m. and watch them train.

From noon until five o’clock on Friday, there will also be the Taste NY: Craft Beer event where track guests can sample craft beers exclusive to New York.

The Sunday following Travers Day will host a handicapping contest and Taste NY: Food and Artisans where guests can sample food and visit artisan vendors at a market held at the Saratoga Pavilion from 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

With so many fun events at Saratoga for the weekend and with summer coming to a close, be sure to wear your favorite summer fashion trends before you have to hang them up for the fall. One trend to try before summer ends is the high-waisted short trend. In the past, shorts have been a casual clothing item, but in recent years, they have become a major fashion staple in dressed-up versions. In fact, they even often come with matching tops to make an almost suit-like set. The high waist trend gives shorts that special touch that makes them more fashionable and less casual then regular shorts. Try shorts in pretty fabrics like lace or brocade, or, as mentioned earlier, wear it with a matching top for a suit-like look.

Your shorts suit is the perfect way to look fashionable at all of Saratoga’s Travers Stakes events at the close of summer.
