Esquire Horseplayers Episode 6 Recap; Bankroll Buster
Esquire Horseplayers Episode 6 Recap; Bankroll Buster: Episode 6 of Horseplayers starts out with viewers finding out that Peter Rotondo, Jr. is not a bachelor after all. Maybe to the disappointment of some of the lady viewers, in this episode we are introduced to Peter’s beautiful wife, giving us another glimpse into the lives of Team Rotondo.
We see Team Rotondo at the Queen’s Plate at Woodbine in Canada, which is like the Kentucky Derby in America. Matt Bernier and Chris Hellmers are at Monmouth Park in New Jersey, where Bernier is dubbed as “young Skywalker” by Hellmers, which is meant as a compliment as Bernier’s potential is clear, and all the Horseplayers seem to be willing to offer their advice and wisdom to the up and comer.
All of the Horseplayers end up at Keenland in Episode 6 and we see all of them, with the exception of Kevin Cox, who has already won his seat in Vegas, squirm and struggle until the very end. Team Rotondo has to go all in at the last minute for any hope of success, and it doesn’t pay off for them in the end. Team Rotondo still has not qualified as of yet. Michael Beychok is also out of luck as he isn’t able to qualify either, as he made some pretty big mistakes this episode. Hellmers is also down to the wire in the end and he decides to play it safe by betting every horse to win, but at the last minute puts down and extra $500 on the favorite horse. This doesn’t pay off as the favorite horse ends up coming in second place. However, Hellmers is still able to take second place.
Viewers will just have to wait and see if the Horseplayers can take a turn and get back on a winning streak and start qualifying for Handicapping in Vegas.
