Grey Horse Flashback Wins 2013 Robert B. Lewis Stakes

Flashback and He’s Had Enough were my two favorite predictions in the 2013 Robert B. Lewis Stakes that took place on Saturday February 2 at Santa Anita Park. Flashback crossed the finish line first beating the rest of the Kentucky Derby hopefuls by 6 ½ lengths!

Flashback won the Robert B. Lewis Stakes with minimal encouragement from jockey Julien Leparoux. The grey colt is trained by Bob Baffert and is owned by Gary and Mary West.

Jockey Julien Leparoux talked a little about Flashback saying, “I think he’s still a little green. It was an easy race, we won easy, and this is a nice horse. If he keeps improving, I think he has a bright future. I think he will improve off this race, and I can’t wait to ride him next time out. Many thanks to Bob Baffert and the owner. It’s a pleasure to ride these kind of horses.”

Bob Baffert added that he wasn’t really sure what Flashback’s next race would be stating, “Right now, I don’t know. I’ll speak with Gary West. We’ll just figure out a plan for him and just keep him healthy. That’s the main plan right now. Right now I can’t think that far ahead — I just have to keep him healthy and keep him going forward.”

Flashback seems to have a bright future which may include racing in the Santa Anita Derby on April 6th. Bob Baffert appears positive and finally relaxed! Lady and The Track would like to wish Bob Baffert, Gary and Mary West, Julien Leparoux, and the beautiful Flashback the best of luck in future races.

Flashback wins the 2013 Robert B. Lewis Stakes.
